How the NSU student bus works

North South University runs a student bus service on six routes across Dhaka: Uttara, Mirpur, Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi, Azimpur and Khilgaon. For Fall 2026 the buses run from October 3, 2026 to December 28, 2026, the last day of final exams. Every route reaches the Bashundhara campus at 7:40 AM, 2:20 PM and 5:45 PM, and buses head back at 11:20 AM and 2:40 PM, with later trips on some routes.

Tickets are sold on the NSU Transport portal and paid with bKash or a bank card only. A one way trip costs Tk 100 and a round trip Tk 200 a day. Booking for the semester means paying up front for every day you pick, except Fridays. If the service is suspended on another day, NSU refunds that day to your bank account after the semester.

Morning pickup times are indicative, carried over from last semester. The Fall 2026 notice lists the stops but not their times, and the afternoon and evening trips were re-timed, so check the transport portal for those.

NSU bus questions, answered

How much is the NSU student bus fare?

For Fall 2026, a one way trip costs Tk 100 and a round trip costs Tk 200 a day, on every route. When you book for the semester you pay up front for every day you pick, and Fridays are never charged. A round trip on all 75 chargeable days comes to Tk 15,000.

How do I pay for an NSU bus ticket?

Buy tickets on the NSU Transport portal (transport.northsouth.edu) and pay with bKash or a bank card. No other payment method is accepted.

When can I buy Fall 2026 NSU bus tickets?

Round trip tickets are on sale 28 to 29 September 2026, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day. One way tickets are on sale 30 September to 1 October 2026, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day, if seats are still available. After that you can pay per ticket at least an hour before a trip, again only if seats are available.

When does the NSU bus service run in Fall 2026?

From October 3, 2026 to December 28, 2026, the last day of final exams. That is 87 days, of which 75 are chargeable because Fridays are excluded.

Which areas do NSU student buses cover?

There are 6 routes: Uttara, Mirpur, Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi, Azimpur and Khilgaon. Each picks students up at 4 to 7 stops on the way to the Bashundhara campus. The first stops are Abdullahpur (Uttara), Bangla College (Mirpur), Japan Garden City (Mohammadpur), Jigatola Bus Stand (Dhanmondi), Matri Sadan Hospital (Azimpur) and Notre Dame College (Khilgaon).

What time does the NSU bus reach campus and leave?

Every route reaches NSU at 7:40 AM, 2:20 PM and 5:45 PM. Buses leave NSU at 11:20 AM and 2:40 PM on all routes, at 6:30 PM for Uttara, Mirpur, Mohammadpur and Dhanmondi, and at 10:20 PM for Mirpur and Mohammadpur only.

Do I get money back if the bus does not run?

Yes. If the service is suspended on any day other than a Friday, NSU refunds that day after the semester ends. Refunds are paid into a bank account only, never to bKash, even if you paid for the ticket with bKash.

Summer 2026 fare refund

Form closed

NSU suspended the student bus service on a few days last semester and refunded students who had bought tickets for them. Claims were made through a form that has now closed.

The claim form closed on 15 September 2026, and refunds were due by 26 September 2026. If you submitted the form and the money has not reached your bank account, contact the Accounts Officer.
